Check the reward tiers before committing everything
Push events almost always have tiered milestone rewards — know what the next meaningful tier requires before deciding whether to stop or keep pushing, since sometimes a small additional spend is what separates you from a significantly better tier.
Don't push past your genuine surplus

Combine with other active bonuses
If any hero, charm, or alliance bonus temporarily boosts the resource the push event is centered on, timing your big spend to overlap with that bonus window stretches the same resources further.
