Once your roster includes more than one genuinely strong defensive hero, how you rotate or combine them in your garrison becomes a real decision, not an afterthought.
Match your garrison to the threat you're expecting
If you're expecting a specific kind of attack (a large coordinated rally versus scattered smaller probes), your ideal garrison composition can differ — there's rarely one single "best" defensive setup for every situation.
Don't split defensive strength unnecessarily
If your account only has one meaningfully strong defender, it's usually better to commit them fully to your primary garrison rather than splitting defensive responsibility awkwardly — a strong single defense beats a diluted double one in most cases.
Rotate based on availability, not just strength
If a strong defensive hero is on cooldown or otherwise unavailable, know your second-best option in advance rather than discovering the gap during an actual attack — a quick mental (or written) backup plan avoids being caught with a weak garrison at the wrong moment.
Reassess as your roster grows
As you develop more defensive-capable heroes, periodically reconsider your garrison setup rather than sticking with your original choice out of habit — a stronger option that's since become available is easy to overlook if you're not actively checking.
