Roaming threats on the world map — wandering monsters and bosses rather than scheduled events — reward map awareness and quick decision-making more than the deep planning that scheduled events call for.
Scout before you commit troops
Roaming threats vary significantly in difficulty, and attacking one that's too strong for your current squad wastes troops and healing capacity for no real reward. A quick check of the threat's apparent strength before committing is always worth the few seconds it takes.
Coordinate on tougher targets
The stronger roaming threats are often intentionally difficult for a solo player and are meant to be tackled with alliance coordination — if you spot one that looks too strong to solo, flagging it in alliance chat rather than attempting it alone (and losing troops) is usually the better call.
Don't ignore them entirely either
Roaming threats are a supplemental, opportunistic reward source — completely ignoring them because they're not "the main content" leaves easy, low-commitment value unclaimed. A quick engagement with an appropriately-sized threat when you happen to see one is close to free value.
Timing and respawns
These threats typically respawn periodically rather than being a one-time occurrence — if you clear the map of easy ones, it's worth checking back later rather than assuming the opportunity is gone for good.
