Skill Point Allocation: Getting the Most From Your Points

Skill point systems reward a clear plan more than almost any other progression mechanic, because points are limited and re-allocating them later is often costly or restricted.

Decide the hero's job before spending anything

Before allocating a single point, be clear on what role this specific hero is filling โ€” rally lead, garrison defense, exploration, or a pairing partner. Skill priorities differ meaningfully by role, and points spent against the wrong role are largely wasted value.

Prioritize skills that scale, not flat bonuses

Where the choice is available, skills that scale with squad size, troop count, or an existing strength you already have tend to outperform flat, fixed bonuses in the long run โ€” especially as your account grows and that scaling compounds.

Don't chase every skill evenly

Spreading points evenly across every available skill usually produces a mediocre result across the board rather than genuine strength anywhere. A hero built around two or three strong, complementary skills typically outperforms one with shallow investment everywhere.

Reassess after major account changes

If your playstyle shifts โ€” say, from a defense-focused approach to a more offense-focused one โ€” it's worth revisiting whether your current skill allocations still match. Don't assume a build from months ago is still the right one for where your account is now.

When in doubt, ask before committing

If skill point changes are hard or costly to undo, it's worth checking with your alliance or community what's actually working for a similar setup before locking in an irreversible choice โ€” this is exactly the kind of decision where a quick question saves real resources.
